The latest craze in my kitchen is the use of figs in just.about.everything. I love them. I crave the fig season 6 months in advance. This flavor combo has quite a steady following, and I wanted to simplify it even more by keeping salt and seasoning out of the picture as well as not overloading on the oils. Figs: provide a good amount of potassium, magnesium and calcium, which contribute to heart health. Figs will reduce blood pressure and are key to the Mediterranean diet! They are also a natural laxative due to their high fiber content and really benefit the digestive system. Buy them organic for maximum taste and health. Dried figs concentrate more nutrition in a smaller serving.
