I love this dessert idea because it takes a lot of the fat and sugar out of regular crème brûlée. You can also whip this up quickly and without any fuss. There is also a surprise at the bottom of the bowl – a fruit preserve of your choice. Enjoy!
If you’d like this recipe to be vegan, try replacing dairy yogurt with coconut, almond or any other vegan yogurt you can find. You’ll love this version of crème brûlée!
Healthy Yogurt Crème Brûlée

Cook Time: 10 minutes under broiler
Keywords: broil vegetarian yogurt brown sugar jam preserves pudding
Ingredients (1 serving)
- 8 ounces yogurt
- 1/4 cup apricot (or any other fruit) preserves
- 1 tablespoons brown sugar
- Banana for garnish
Instructions
Assemble the ingredients and begin layering. first coat the bottom of the bowl with the fruit preserve. Then comes the yogurt. Sprinkle the brown sugar atop the yogurt. You can use turbinado sugar as well.
For a crispy, caramel finish, put under the broiler at the highest setting. Depending on how powerful your broiler is, the crisp-factor could be a little low. If you want that guaranteed crack-with-a-spoon experience, use a blow torch to flash caramelize the top of the crème brûlée.
After 10 minutes (or less) under the broiler, it should be finished. Keep an eye out as to not burn the sugar too much.
Bon Appetit!
